So often I feel like I am living in an alternate universe…every once in a while, I’ll catch a glimpse of something familiar. I have found myself searching out “the familiar” like driving around my childhood neighborhood (looking at my childhood home and others, schools, restaurants, etc. that have been there forever) and yes, I still live in my hometown (never lived anywhere else). I find myself seeking music and movies that bring me back in time going over and over my precious memories as to not lose them. I will not lie…I have wept many a time at the thought of everything that was once familiar being erased. A couple days ago my youngest daughter (23 yrs.) went with me to pick up some chairs and I had to back into our garage…she made the comment that she didn’t know how we ever were able to back up (in the car) without the backup cameras lol…I said, we just did (there was no choice), but we had the review mirror and side mirrors and our eyes…didn’t seem so difficult. That made me think of all the ways in which we lived and survived without “modern” technology…it was actually pretty great! I even met my husband the “old fashioned” way…at a skating rink, LOL!!
