COVIDMANIA, BASKETBALL AND CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE

Telling this story for a friend:

An unvaxxed, over-aged guy I know sneaked into a local college gym again this week. I won’t tell you how he does it, but it involves exploiting a flaw in the electronic entry system. Wearing a compulsory mask upon entry also helps; in a mask and hoodie, my friend can still pass for a college student. Especially if the entrance monitor’s eyes are glued to her iPhone.

My friend had to sneak in. Pre-Scamdemic, he bought semi-annual alumni memberships. During those years, he played in games with students, who called him “The Professor” or “Uncle Drew.” Or so I’m told. But as one more pseudo-science “stop the spread” measure, alumni memberships were eliminated. Never mind that this alumnus would have been welcome to mingle freely with thousands of spectators at the college’s weekend football games, and that many NCAA teams have hosted 70,000-110,000 cheek-to-jowl fans each Saturday this fall, without any of the mass outbreaks that Fauci predicted.

Over the past 22 months, governments have subjected the public to every imaginable Coronavirus lie and form of political theater, as well as lies and theater that could not previously have been imagined.

When my friend reached the basketball floor, it was empty. He removed his mask and began to bounce his ball. As he did, he saw multiple imperiously unpunctuated, bold-faced signs on each wall decreeing that "ALL PLAYERS MUST WEAR MASKS IN THE EVENT OF NONCOMPLIANCE ALL ACTIVITIES WILL BE SHUT DOWN"

Right. Like it’s healthy for people to sprint up and down basketball courts while wearing a mask. Dear College Administration: take Bio 101; cellular respiration’s generation—and the body’s elimination—of toxic/asphyxiating carbon dioxide are covered in the first week.

As Fauci says: “It’s Soy-ence!” He should know: “He is Soy-ence,” despite having been consistently either equivocal or wrong for the past 22 months. How have he, and other similarly incompetent and/or dishonest people, been allowed to shape public opinion and policy? RFK Jr’s book, The Real Anthony Fauci, is a must-read. Fauci more closely resembles The Devil than The Science.

Doing solo basketball drills is fluid, creative, rhythmic, meditative, limbicly satisfying motion. And elevating one’s pulse lifts one’s mood for hours afterward. Even still, playing alone is not as much fun as playing in a game with good players. If my friend is making shots, he wants other people to see these. More importantly, humans are social creatures who enjoy interaction, competition and cooperation. The “experts” who falsely assert that their lockdowns, masks and vaxxes save lives ignore that people need face-to-face time with other people in order to stay physically and mentally healthy.

Ten minutes after my friend began his basketball workout, two masked male undergrads entered the gym and half-heartedly went one-on-one on an adjacent hoop for fifteen minutes. He couldn’t blame them for holding back; if you’re re-breathing carbon dioxide. you probably shouldn’t exert yourself.

When the students were leaving, my friend approached them and asked, "Hey, they don't really mean that thing about the masks, right?"

The students responded "They definitely do. They come in and check, and if everyone isn't masked, they shout through a bullhorn, and either turn out the lights or raise the baskets toward the ceiling."

Who knew that work-study student gym staff could be Stassi operatives?

For a society whose leaders lie daily about being “laser-focused on public health,” why are colleges discouraging gym use, and making exercise annoying and unhealthy? Working out controls weight. Though you never hear this from Biden, Fauci or any tyrannical governor or mayor, everyone sees the elephant in the room: obesity causes many ostensible Covid deaths. Having Americans maintain a healthy weight via sensible eating would have extended far more lives than the “vaxxes” ever will.

Since Day 1, it’s been obvious in many ways that Scamdemic “mitigation” was never about protecting public health. We’ve witnessed 22 months of political and economic opportunism. How can so many purportedly educated Americans not see that the emperor has no clothes and that Fauci, et al. are perpetrating a massive fraud?

College students: you’re at functionally zero risk from Coronavirus. You’ve been way too naive and passive and have handed over two years of your lives to a continuing series of shifting, authoritarian measures that have never added up, logically or empirically. Really bad work, college administrators: four semesters—and counting—of epic, counter-science, counter-data failed policy.

Against a government and media that have consistently acted in such bad faith throughout the Scamdemic, multiple forms of civil disobedience are necessary and appropriate.

Disrespect has been earned. The Covid overreaction has caused tremendous, lasting harm. Enduring mistrust of, and disdain for, government, the media and medical “experts” might be the Scamdemic’s only positive consequence.

Though, as Yuval Noah Harari suggests in Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind, attenuating the “imagined reality” that these institutions are honest and seek to advance the public interest will be costly in its own way.
