I’ve written about 25 stories/essays about Coronamania. Sometimes I’ve thought that a given post is my last, because I have nothing else to say; or because enough people are finally seeing they’ve been scammed, and this 22 month charade/nightmare is about to end. I’d very much like for the latter scenario to be true.
But then more Covid craziness occurs. It feels beyond profoundly poor public policy; like jazz musicians, it’s impossible to be so repeatedly wrong unless you’re doing so on purpose. It feels more like the lockdowns/masks/vaxxes are elements of a grand, long-term Government/Media/Pharma political/social/economic control scheme.
Regardless, many people bought the fear narrative, hook, line and sinker. Having done so, they can’t let go of the anxiety.
Yesterday, I visited my 93 year old aunt and uncle. They told me that someone from their church had telephoned them and, during my visit, church members would stop by to give them a Christmas package. After over a year of only drive-up or Zoom “gatherings,” their small church only recently resumed in-person worship. As my aunt and uncle spend most of their time in their apartment, having a church member visit them face-to-face sounded like laudable, charitable, life-normalizing outreach.
In the mid-afternoon, the doorbell rang. My uncle welcomed in a sixty-something married couple. The visitors wore masks and kept their jackets on, so not exactly a face-to-face, relaxed, normalizing interaction.
My “triple-vaxxed” aunt and uncle remained unmasked. My aunt and uncle eschew masks at home because masks make it hard for them to breathe. It also occurs to me, and probably to them, that they, as well as millions of others around their age, won’t see many more Christmases, and that their last Christmases may entail largely empty churches and family dinners with members missing, the injected hiding from the unjabbed. Adding masks to already compromised human gatherings is, especially after two years, very played out; I think they’ve had enough of the Corona terrorism. Additionally, I’m symptom-free and in order to keep my outdoor job, I submit to mandatory weekly, overinclusive tests because I’m uninjected.
I assumed that yesterday’s latter day, masked gift bearers were triple-jabbed. It’s odd that people who believe the injections are so effective that everyone must get jabbed, still wear masks. Perhaps they think you can’t be too careful. I guess the latter-day Magi didn’t know that masks don’t work, either.
The visiting man’s jacket bore the name of a tech university. I’ve noticed throughout the past 22 months that engineers, and other college grads I know, who might more rationally have focused on how favorable the Covid survival data are, and might thereby have appropriately lessened their own fear, have instead embraced lockdowns, masks and shots as weapons to “crush” the virus. But viruses can’t be crushed like bugs. And marketing a product as a “vaccine” doesn’t mean that it actually immunizes; Covid shots clearly don’t. Biology is more complex and dynamic than are bridge building or designing electrical circuits. Efforts to manage living organisms or systems tend to fail and/or cause unintended effects.
The masked Magi stayed for only about ten minutes, standing the whole time. During that span, they referred to “Covid” several times, saying things like “Since ‘The Pandemic(!)’ started, we almost never go out. We only go to the grocery store, and only when we know there aren’t many other shoppers. And we always wear our masks.”
Covid this and Covid that. No mention of Jesus nor angels. Nor even eggnog.
The gift givers handed my aunt a bag with a snowflake tree ornament and a bulging bag of seasonally-shaped, red/green sprinkled, homemade cookies. Cookies are well-intentioned treats. But if one thinks we’re living through Viral Wartime, cookies seem counterproductive. Flour and sugar suppress immune function and displace nutritious food. Plus, most who die with Covid are overweight and/or diabetic. Instead of taking measures to strengthen their own bodies, Americans take lifestyle liberties, and outsource their health care to MDs, often with dubious results.
The gift bag also contained six greeting cards from different households. One was a sign of the times: a cardstock photo—passing as a Christmas card—of increasingly common twins beneath a Happy Holidays heading. The remaining cards had winter motifs. One, from the visitors themselves, featured a poinsettia on its front with a standard, printed message inside, supplemented by a short, cursive blue ink inscription that ended with “may the New Year bring more happiness, and less Covid.”
Are these tidings of comfort and joy?
When the Bible mentions “fear,” it’s typically preceded or followed by “not,” e.g., “Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,” etc. The original Wise Men were badasses who made an arduous, God-trusting journey despite being trailed by Herod’s hit men.
Do masked, agoraphobic visitors convey a message of tranquility, faith in God’s protection or salvation? Judeo-Christianity is grounded in the awareness that none of us is on this Earth forever. In Psalm 90, Moses asks God to number our days to give us a heart of wisdom.
Whether one believes in eternal life through Christ, or not, the data plainly show that rational, reasonably healthy humans under 75 shouldn’t fear SARS-CoV-2. For those prone to worry, there are plenty of other threats to 75+ year olds that don’t entail universal isolation, pseudo-medical semi-burqas, and multiple experimental mRNA injections. And sometimes, in death there is mercy.
Despite all of the foregoing, the Satanic, College of the Holy Cross alum, Fauci, just advocated that families exclude the non-triple-injected from Christmas gatherings. That’s not a message of faith or brotherhood. It also ignores The Almighty Science that Fauci claims to embody: the injected still get infected and spread the virus.
If God sent his son so believers may have eternal life, why all the Covid fear among believers? Fear not. Bring unmasked news of Peace on Earth, and in Heaven thereafter, to people of goodwill.
Because the government and media won’t.
Thank you once again, writers like yourself have helped keep me sane in these insane times. I’ve often wondered over the last two years why ppl that call themselves Christian are so terrified of a virus. I’m a follower of Christ and I believe our days are numbered by God, we don’t die prematurely(Psalm 139:16). We should be an example to the world that we fear not and live our lives. Not that we do stupid things with the bodies we’re given, but not to cower in fear either. The reality is we will all die someday, no amount of meds or jabs will prevent that day. We’re all terminal, use the time given wisely. God bless and Merry Christmas!
Up until 2 years ago, my 80+ year old parents were enjoying their lives eating out, visiting friends and family and traveling. Now they wear masks, keep getting vaccinated with Covid shots and boosters in addition to pneumonia and flu shots. They avoid talking about Covid because they know how I feel about this scamdemic but I see the fear and how they are slowly isolating themselves from the world. No data or articles will change their minds. I can only pray that Fauci and his cronies will be held accountable for their crimes against humanity.
