Thank you once again, writers like yourself have helped keep me sane in these insane times. I’ve often wondered over the last two years why ppl that call themselves Christian are so terrified of a virus. I’m a follower of Christ and I believe our days are numbered by God, we don’t die prematurely(Psalm 139:16). We should be an example to the world that we fear not and live our lives. Not that we do stupid things with the bodies we’re given, but not to cower in fear either. The reality is we will all die someday, no amount of meds or jabs will prevent that day. We’re all terminal, use the time given wisely. God bless and Merry Christmas!

An 89 yo former pastor-friend never covid vaxed, never any flu shots, drives 4 hours round trip for Sunday school mens group then listens to the sermon. He has never gotten covid and has no fear at all. He talks and lives a Godly life all the time. What an inspiration.

I am in my late 60’s…not vaxxed (with ANY of the ‘senior’ vaxxes). My Last vaxx was a tetanus shot years ago. I also have an autoimmune thyroid disease. I never stopped doing stuff, walked my dogs everyday, took trips (road trips) both last summer and this summer, gathered with my family for baby showers, holiday meals, saw my two grand nieces right after they were born, went to the beach with my nieces & grand nieces, & met a whole new group of friends this year that I socialize with twice a month. Thankfully no one in my immediate family got the Jab except my sister in law’s parents. I have not had the flu in 14 years! I have had a sniffle or two here or there over the past two years, but I nip it in the bud with an extra dose of all the supplements I take. I refuse to cave into fear and isolate myself. We were not meant to live in fear and isolation! It’s so sad to see these people that have just complied and are so fearful with their masks and darting looks when you look at them maskless, and give them a big hello and a smile! And young people are the worst! What a life they will have going forward. 😵‍💫🥺

I get it. Very few friends left who are not vaxed. One friend had covid last July. Took IVM by day 7-8 and recovered soon. She lost a good bit of hair though. I even wondered if from my ex bf, if I got his spike proteins? I even took IVM on Mondays due to feeling poorly. He was pro-vax being a med professional, so we eventually parted ways as he thought I was paranoid. I feel a bit about ostracized & mistreated. Some other friends at least never discuss it or seem to care whether I am vaxed or not.

Up until 2 years ago, my 80+ year old parents were enjoying their lives eating out, visiting friends and family and traveling. Now they wear masks, keep getting vaccinated with Covid shots and boosters in addition to pneumonia and flu shots. They avoid talking about Covid because they know how I feel about this scamdemic but I see the fear and how they are slowly isolating themselves from the world. No data or articles will change their minds. I can only pray that Fauci and his cronies will be held accountable for their crimes against humanity.

I just found out that, as an unvaccinated person, I have to test negative to go to my wife's family xmas. My initial inclination is to simply not go, but, upon reflection, I think I will test and say goodbye to them forever, in person. I see no reason to remain here in California, just to be near family, if the family has turned itself into a bunch of pharmazombies.

Thanks for the writeup, Mark. I hope your Holidays are going to be more uplifting than mine.

Thanks, Cal.

I wrote this about losing friends and family over this.

The last song The Supremes and sang live was "Someday, We'll be Together." I feel like that. Maybe some relationships are over. Maybe they'll resume. Or maybe they won't. Either way, I can't validate the mania.

Peace to you, this Christmas and always.

Well if they (the wife’s family) don’t need to have actual ”proof” of the test, tell them you got it, that you’re all set and have a good time. But I personally I find at these type of gatherings with these type of people who have the vaxx mindsets, there is this undercurrent of tension that is there but never acknowledged. It’s like it’s the ‘elephant in the room’ that everyone sees but no one wants to acknowledge! Say your ‘goodbyes’ and move on. I now urge people to ‘find your tribe’…and they don’t have to necessarily be your family! And they are out there!

I feel so fortunate as well

as grateful to have found people this year who think, feel and stand for what I believe in. l ’lost’ a few friends, but after evaluation of said ‘friendships’ I realized they were very one sided and mostly about them, and how I supported them, it was not a reciprocal give and take type of friendship. So the new people I know now are so amazing, generous hearts and spirits, people who are willing to stand up for their freedoms and all our freedoms and fight back against the tyranny that has been laid at our feet for nearly two years now. (At least here in California.) You will find these people too! 🙏😍💪🏽🥁🇺🇸

Or call their bluff ... tell them OK - or better yet "I understand" (as OK can imply you will follow their request ... whereas I understand means more I comprehend what you are saying).

Now, I don't know your family, but I bet my bottom dollar no one will have the stones to demand to see proof, maybe not even ask ... this is just a hunch based on human nature and experience (as in very few have asked me my "status" on things despite many frequent interactions at youth sports, etc.).

Of course, I'm in NJ where people that casually know me just assume I have taken the "medicine" (recently I have started wearing the yellow wristband - made known to me after the Aaron Rodgers Pat McAfee interview - which could clue some people in, maybe).

People assume all the time - and are wrong much of that time - so I am shielded here in NJ by people's assumption that I have taken the "medicine" ... the yellow wristband is my first "public" step to outing myself ... for better or for worse:-)

I'm not acquiescing and at this point cannot imagine a scenario where I do acquiesce to the rampant nonsense and asinine power plays by feckless "leaders."

Back to your party ... curious to find out how it plays out - good luck!!!

Locally where I am in NJ (basic upper middle suburbia) things seem not as crazy as what I read about Ca ... but then the reverse might also be true outside the city centers in Ca ... that said, I am thinking and enjoying the idea of getting out of dodge ... maybe we'll meet someday in TX or FL :-)

I visited some elderly relatives in Florida recently. None of them were masked and although I didn't ask, it sounded like they weren't jabbed either. We went out to eat several times in restaurants that were crowded with every table filled. No masks. No social distancing. No vaccine checks or QR codes. In short, normal.

Thank you. Worth a reread as I skimmed. You’ve been one of an increasing number who have helped keep me sane during these times. I’m so grateful for your effort. I’m an RN in New Brunswick so your close proximity somehow makes it all the more meaningful. I’m so sad for people like the masked visitors. Superficial Christianity has been making my eyes roll for years but strangely (or perhaps not at all) I’ve felt my faith in Christ’s love for humanity all the more during these times. We are loved. Those who fail to recognize that are so obviously betraying that by giving into what seems more and more like pure evil. Merry Christmas! And thank you!

I'm a Bluenoser now but grew up in New Brunswick. Nice to see some other voices from the region. I was so saddened to hear of NB's recent measures about allowing groceries to restrict access to the unjabbed, and the early shuttering of schools and canceling all youth sports. Our children should not have to suffer this madness, and going down this path with essential services is just plain evil.

After many years of being, let's say "adrift" from Christ, I find myself being drawn back to Him. The world has driven itself so mad, with Canada right at the leading edge of it, that I feel I have lost any centre, calm, peace, in this society, and that seeking it amongst man is increasingly folly. Perhaps that will be the one good thing that comes out of these terrible times.

“As for the leper who has the disease, his garments should be torn and his head should be left ungroomed and he should cover over his mustache and call out, ‘Unclean, unclean!’ He will be unclean the whole time that he has the disease. Since he is unclean, he should live in isolation. His dwelling place will be outside the camp.”

“And look! a leper came up and did obeisance to him, saying: ‘Lord, if you just want to, you can make me clean.’ And Jesus quickly donned his N95 face mask and turned the leper away, instructing him to receive his holy vaccination.”

The tribe mentality is a very tough nut to crack, thank you for your continued efforts and Merry Christmas!

This is so very depressing. And a scene likely repeated thousands of times. My guess is there are Covidians (because it’s replaced their former religion for many - maybe most) that see these stories as a “heartwarming sign of the times.”

I know a couple in their mid 80’s that have barely stopped throughout the insanity. They had their friends over the whole time, they had house parties with their similarly aged friends, hosted Thanksgiving and went to restaurants as soon as they re-opened. I envy them. As the man in the couple told me “I gotta die sometime and it’s not hiding in my house with a piece of cloth over my face.” Luckily his group felt the same way. None got hospitalized, some got Covid most for the vax but none got the boosters. These people don’t live in a Free State. They are in Massachusetts.

Meanwhile people I know in their 40’s are still masked up. Won’t go into a restaurant. Hide in their homes. Mask their kids. Get boosted and boosted again. And then shove the dangerous drugs into the children.

We’ve lost some people forever to lunacy. But those of us left - we gotta keep it up. Free states are showing the way - but so are some smart people fighting the fight in the Tyranny States.

I'm not a Christian and have huge problems w/ organized religion in general. However, I have often wondered this pre-pandemic and now I'm often fixated on it: "If God sent his son so believers may have eternal life, why all the Covid fear among believers?"

Don't get me wrong. This isn't a problem just with Christians. We have a society that in many circumstances takes death so lightly, but somehow when it comes to COVID, not only can we not die, but we can't even be sick. We've forgotten that there's a difference between living and surviving, and normally, I wouldn't care. Live your life huddled in a cave. It's no skin off my nose. But these days they've made it my problem by taking this terror of something that is ultimately unavoidable and unpleasant no matter when or how it happens (death) and making not dealing with it in a healthy manner a virtue.

Great post. A pleasure to read and ponder.

One aspect of this whole charade that makes me more forgiving of people (like the masked married couple who visited your aunt & uncle) is that I'm convinced many have just been so conditioned to "do the right thing" and "protect others" that they know no better. While for some this is merely virtue signaling, for others this may just be misplaced virtue. Many good people long to serve and help others-- the problem is that they've trusted the words of people who truly appear to be without virtue. What can one do, except say, "You're free to remove your masks here; it's absolutely up to you and I'm not afraid of you, friend."

Mark, found my way here from lewrockwell. Yeah, I want the writing class too.

Since late spring I’ve managed to find some freedom oriented meetings in north central texas. Not knowing what to expect, it was kind of a revelation to be in a room or church with like minded peeps. In one meeting Ken Paxton, the texas attorney general, spoke. Another had Shelley Luther, the lockdown defying hair salon owner. These meetings leave me with a smile pasted on my face. They’re similar to picking up our processed pigs from the local processor. Big smile from down deep.

Last week I found another genuine smile generating event. My wife doesn’t like bbq but I do. So, I can eat it alone or do without and eat together. Eat together it is until we had a recent visitor. Our niece loves texas and bbq so we went to three of them. Lo and behold the three eateries made for an ethereal experience. I’d kinda forgotten the magic of killer bbq.

As a bonus, no masks, all happy people getting along politely enjoying the killer bbq. These places were an oasis for me like the meetings I’ve been attending. If Karen/Ken was there I’m pretty sure they forgot their causes for a moment, looked around and became one with others on this particular fine day.

The point is food brings people together. What if the huge difference in people today could be bridged by sharing worthy food? Whatever part of the world one is in, fabulous food is likely available. What if folks of wildly differing opinions could be coaxed into eating real food together? What’s the worst that could happen?

Couldn't have said it better myself Steve...good BBQ is a religious experience. Cheers!

This is exactly correct. I once told a terrified "Christian" in an online exchange who was advocating for excluding unvaccinated people from churches, that I doubted he really believed in eternal life. Perhaps not kind, but true. It's astonishing to see even Christians falling for this crap and living in fear. However I am heartened by the fact that the resistance movement is very disproportionately Christian even in Canadian society where Christians are rarer than hen's teeth.
