THE MEDIA'S EPIC CORONAVIRUS FAIL

I litigated complex civil cases for 30 years, presenting and defending countless briefs, motions, depositions, hearings and trials, all ultimately designed to yield the truth. The most fundamental rule of evidence controlling this epistemological process is that questions and facts bearing on credibility are always relevant. This rule reflects a core human perception: when someone is shown to have lied about one topic, everything else they say becomes less believable.

Most of my clients were government entities. Typically, those I represented told the truth. But in two well-publicized cases—one on behalf of the government and one against it—government officials obviously lied about important facts. It happens. Both times, the government deserved to lose, and did.

The Vietnam War provided a notorious example of dishonest government. Misrepresenting—likely fabricating—a maritime North Vietnamese attack, LBJ convinced Congress to grant him broad powers that he used to wage war. During the seven years that followed, Johnson and Nixon, and their Cabinets and military officers, continually overstated the military and social progress that was being made.

But at least during the Vietnam War, the media exposed the government’s lies. Today’s 90% Democrat media generally protects Democrat politicians. During the “pandemic,” the media intensified its partisanism, distorting and withholding information—and posting daily images of people on respirators—in order to sell a crisis narrative to a gullible public, and thereby oust the Orange Man.

The Coronavirus response: the lockdowns, the social distancing and mask theater, contact tracing, mail-in ballots and vaxxes have entailed a miles-long series of government lies. Most media never seriously questioned and exposed the liars, as attorneys do during cross-examination in even the simplest litigation.

To begin with, various government officials and the media greatly overstated the Covid death tolls.

“Case” numbers have been grossly inflated for the past 18 months by reliance on high cycle PCR tests that delivered 90% false positives. Kary Mullis, the PCR test’s inventor, emphasized that PCR tests should never be used to diagnose infections. Mullis also labeled Fauci a bureaucrat with an agenda and a liar “who knows nothing about science.” Despite the PCR test’s inaccuracy, a positive test was deemed sufficient to be a “case;” symptoms were not required. Further, each positive test counted as an additional case; if the same person tested positive three times in a week, three cases were tallied.

Beyond case counts, hospitalization rates and death tolls have also continuously been inflated based on these bogus test-based numbers. Those admitted to hospitals for any reason, including, e.g., car wreck injuries, can be counted as “Covid hospitalized” if their intake screening incidentally reveals an Covid infection. A recent Harvard study concluded that half of those counted as Covid-hospitalized lacked symptoms. Similarly, hundreds of thousands in poor baseline health: age 80+, with Stage 4 cancers, or obese, were categorized as “Covid deaths” if they PCR-tested positive.

The government and the media have also sold the related, centrally important, mega-lie that all people, including the young and healthy, were at serious risk of dying from a Coronavirus infection. This is plainly fraudulent; by early March, 2020, it was known that nearly all of Italy’s and Spain’s ostensible Coronavirus deaths were among the old, sick and overweight. Those under 70 and not obese or immunocompromised faced only negligible risk. Over 99.9% of the basically healthy survived, even without medical treatment.

The government and its corporate media arm also promoted the fallacies that asymptomatic people spread the virus and that locking down/social distancing/masking up and testing and tracing can “crush” it. But asymptomatic spread is exceedingly rare. And the most locked down/masked up/tested states and cities had the highest death rates. Officials have only recently conceded that the “six feet” social distancing requirement was “completely made up” and lacked a scientific basis. Neither mask wearing nor contact tracing has been shown to thwart viral transmission.

Government and media lies have been especially blatant during the “vaccine” crusade. For months, various officials assured us that there would be no vaxx mandates. Then, seeking to distract people from a variety of recent policy failures in other realms—and likely because he was advised that the current surge would fade naturally and he could deceptively take credit for it—Biden announced that he had “lost his patience(!)” with the unvaxxed, and decreed a wide array of scientifically unsupported vaxx mandates. He said nothing about losing patience with the obese.

During his tirade/charade, Biden asserted that the unvaxxed threaten the vaxxed. This makes no sense. If the vaxx protects the vaxxed, why do the vaxxed care if others are unvaxxed? Further, many of the vaxxed are not only becoming infected, some are dying. In the UK— which vaxxed more people, and did so earlier, than in the US—74% of those recently dying with Covid had been vaxxed. If the vaxx fails to protect the vaxxed, or to stop viral spread, why should all be required to vaxx?

In the same vein, the notion that this has become an “pandemic of the unvaxxed” is very dubious. The “99% of American deaths are among the unvaxxed” trope is based on eight month old data. Recent, reliable data regarding how many of the recently dead are vaxxed versus how many are not either don’t exist or are being hidden. As the next two months pass, and American vaxx effects wear off—as the UK, Israel and Iceland vaxxes have—the “pandemic of the unvaxxed” slogan will likely become another Covid lie, though the media may not report it.

Biden asserted that vaxxing lowers the risk of being hospitalized to “1 in 160,000 per day.” But using a “per day” metric is clearly intended to understate risk. Neither Biden, the CDC nor the media would ever admit that the risk of a basically healthy person under 65 dying of Covid per day is less than 1 in 5,000,000, though, over the past 18 months this has typically been true. It’s beyond incredible that governors and mayors shut down a society to lessen this electron-microscopic risk. But Democrat politicians are profoundly opportunistic and their supporters are naive.

Contrary to the assertion that the unvaxxed threaten the vaxxed, many highly credentialed doctors and scientists have theorized that the opposite is true, and that the vaxxed threaten the unvaxxed. According to a recent, Lancet-published study, the vaxxed have been shown to carry 251 times more viral load than the unvaxxed. The vaxxed may also be exhaling vaxx-strengthened forms of the virus. America will involuntarily test these notions in the coming months.

The mega-funded “vaxxes are safe and effective” ad onslaught is another lie. Biden, Fauci and the media ignore that tens of thousands of people worldwide—including 14,925 Americans—have died shortly after vaxxing. Tens of thousands more—including 60,741 Americans—have been hospitalized. Additionally, many of the vaxxed also manifest infection symptoms shortly after vaxxing. But the multi-billion dollar government vaxx ad campaign has greatly enriched TV and radio stations, as do the endless Pharma ads. The media won’t bite the hands that feed it.

Most importantly, the prospect of long term vaxx harm has not been studied; there simply hasn’t been enough time to derive the necessary longitudinal data. Without such data, no one can assure anyone that these injections are safe over the long term.

Vaxx outcome stats have been gamed in numerous other ways. For example, many of the unvaxxed who have died were profoundly unhealthy. This group didn’t volitionally decline injections; they weren’t vaxxed because doctors feared that the physical stress of vaxxing would kill them. They died with, not from, infection.

Moreover, the vaxx tends to lower immunity in the weeks that follow vaccination. the vaxxed who died with a Coronavirus infection within 14 days of their vaxxes were categorized as “unvaxxed,” thus over-representing the unvaxxed in their death allocations.

Biden and Harris insisted during the campaign that they wouldn’t take the “Trump Vaxx.” (Nor will I; I refuse to support the false narrative that lockdowns and vaxxes saved humanity. A few months later, Biden and Fauci pledged that if 50% of the population took two shots, herd immunity would ensue and all could return to normal life by the Fourth of July. Again, false.

On a society-wide basis, the vaxxing crusade has not moved the public health needle. Over 99.9% of the basically healthy/under 65 survived before the vaxxes. After the vaxxes, this is still true. Similarly, lockdown/social distancing/masking and contact tracing edicts of the past 18 months have made no sense, except as political theater.

After 18 months of lies, it’s astounding that anyone still believes the government or mainstream media regarding Covid. But, as many have observed, if a lie is repeated often enough, it’s accepted as true. And news watchers are fear buyers.

I composed and sent the following list of questions to lockdown/mask/vaxx supporters:

No recipient has provided answers. Several characterized these as “trick,” or leading, questions. They aren’t; each is straightforward, and none is leading. Though, in any event, leading questions are allowed during cross-exam. Any fair judge would require all 25 questions to be answered. Any witness trying to defend the past 18 months of Coronamania would leave the stand with zero credibility.

If such questions are fair game in the carefully circumscribed, rule-intensive realm of litigation, they should certainly have been asked during interviews and press conferences of governors or medical “experts” who supported the lockdowns, etc.

In litigation, the party seeking to change the status quo has the burden of proof. Government officials who supported the social, economic and psychological disfigurement of the past 18 months should have been—but never were—required to prove that the decreed—not legislated—lockdowns, masks, contact tracing and universal vaxxing justified all of the harm these measures have caused. “Journalists” failed to conduct the fair, forceful inquiry that attorneys would conduct during even a dog bite lawsuit.

Even worse, the “progressive” media has actively suppressed information presented by credentialed and reasonable detractors of the terrible Coronavirus response. They’ve not only declined to publish criticisms of the insane, destructive overreaction, but suspended and terminated accounts, including mine, on multiple platforms.

It’s been an epic, deliberate, massively consequential and disgraceful media fail. Fear-selling, misinforming media outlets deserve deep, lasting contempt.
