Toward the end of Derek Jeter’s successful baseball career, the NY Times Magazine published a long article entitled “To Derek Jeter, on His 37th Birthday.” I later learned that this title alluded to a Michelle Pfeiffer movie, “To Gillian, on Her 37th Birthday.” I’m not much of a cinemagoer.
¡Feliz cumpleaños! I was very vocal about the Communist behavior of my Republican Governor and worthless Republican State Senator and Representative - they locked us down, issued EOs suspending MOU between LEO departments giving all of them the right to arrest and fine us if we weren't wearing masks or social distancing, issued EO protecting State employees from C19 transfection mandates but not extending it to students or non-governmental employees. I had very heated arguments with the Republican parasites that run my State- none of it mattered, they're protected elitists. I felt as if I was back in Cuba, with the chivatos watching my every move and calling the government parasites to tell them I wasn't wearing a mask 🙄. I couldn't believe how easy it was for most Americans to comply with the ridiculous mandates implemented by Governors. Covid19 was a nightmare that showed us how evil the elitists truly are, they hate us.
Great note and 100 % spot on re scamdemic. You’re much kinder than I am but perhaps those couple extra years generate empathy. I would prefer to have the perps hanged in public.
From a dark, frigid, windy Detroit morning, I reach out to you to give you a big strong bear hug, a congratulation, recognition and respect for jobs well done.
May you have a blessed fun filled and fruitful day, and many more to come. You earned ‘em,all.
Thanks, Joe, for that great message. It kind of got to me. I've woken up on plenty of dark windy, frigid mornings--I kind of like them--and have been to the Motor City. It's an awesome place.
And the bear hug is something I've shared with many readers. Even if we're separated by hundreds or thousands of miles, we share an unbreakable bond.
Happy Birthday Mark! You have a lust for life that is inspiring. Knowing that you still dance, and play basketball and hockey may give others the confidence to defy the ridiculous stereotypes imposed on us as we age.
I don't really play hockey anymore. But I still skate at a rink and, if it's cold enough, get my sticks and pucks and go to a great place back in the woods....
We should do what we can do for as long as we can do it. Your fitness is impressive.
Take heart my brother. I turned 68 in October and life grows sweeter even while growing shorter. Like you, I’m surrounded by a loving family and I still run most days, completing my 10th marathon 3 1/2 years ago. And yes, that was in the middle of the Covid hoax. Got another one lined up for my 70th birthday. You will never know how many lives you touched…including my own.
Happy birthday Mark ! you are exactly one week younger than myself LOLOL.
We will survive, as we have survived these crazy 5 years. Last week I went to lunch with 5 friends, 3 of them injected (and at least one still going for the next one) and we swore, we would not let the government tear apart our social network again. We agreed that wanting or not wanting another injection should not even be part of a conversation. Some people just like to be jabbed, like some are baptists and others Catholics we agreed that this is a personal affair, and we will go out once a month, and later on, maybe even more, like we used to do before. The 2 that avoided contact at first, were very eager to get back into the circle and apologized... that is all I needed to put them back on my list of favorite people. Recognition of govt over-reach and wanting to be close again.
Happy birthday! Thank you for using your time on this earth to stand up for us, including the young, who do indeed deserve all the freedoms the generations who came before them had! I guffawed at spreading microbes to the ones you love. May you continue sharing germs with everyone you love for many, many years to come!
Thanks for all the great writing you've shared with us I and wish more people were aware of your Stack. And thanks for showing leadership and bravery, the most important virtue, to help us out here deal with the fools, naves, and criminals who unleashed a Final Solution on mankind. Bless you and yours.
I hope you get a lot of neat toys! Happy birthday and I hope you have many more!
My last column points out that RFK, Jr. was almost certainly correct in saying/hypothesizing that childhood vaccines cause autism in exploding numbers of children. Once he becomes HHS Secretary, I hope Mr. Kennedy greenlights a major study of Amish citizens so the public can learn the prevalence of autism in non-vaccinated Amish children and adults.
Happy birthday and many happy returns of the day. I have a few years on you, and smiled at your description of the concessions and changes that have appeared in your activities. I too have had to yield somewhat: decreasing my 90 minute 3 days a week swim, to one hour twice a week. Still working out thrice weekly, daily walks, and of course yoga. But recognizing that the body needs rest, I give myself permission to not do any fitness activity occasionally if it feels right. Injuries at an older age need to be acknowledged and given time ( often more) to heal. Nevertheless, as my husband and I say, “ we”re here and they’re not”. Fight fight fight, and enjoy! L’chaim
Happy Birthday, Mark! I so appreciate how you've helped us through these years. I loved your lines, "I’ve known and liked many people. I got to marry my favorite one." That is THE BEST! As always, you make such thoughtful points. I never could understand older people not speaking up to protect children from these experimental jabs, when they were basically at zero risk of dying of Covid, yet I have friends who wouldn't see their grandchildren until they were all jabbed. It's horrifying what they did to us through incessant fear. Well, here's a great big hug of love to you as you enjoy your delicious pie!!
Happy Birthday from one coal cracker to another! Same age too! You are blessed to have a way with words, that's one of the ways that got me through the dark ages of the past almost 5 yrs.

Yes, and in Dem states, it was even worse.

Happy Birthday.
Thanks, Bill.
It's definitely been a crime against humanity. Major punishment would be consistent with our penal code.
except I think they want to pardon all the perpetrators now??????????
Ugh.
They used to be called heroes. Since when do we pardon heroes?
Good point. It's sick.
I know. I hope I live long enough to observe "real justice," but I'm now old enough and wise enough to know this isn't going to happen.
Ditto.
You have far more empathy than me.Personally, I would like to see them.fed feet first through a wood chipper, slowly ,very very slowly.
From a dark, frigid, windy Detroit morning, I reach out to you to give you a big strong bear hug, a congratulation, recognition and respect for jobs well done.
May you have a blessed fun filled and fruitful day, and many more to come. You earned ‘em,all.
Now tuck into that sweet tater pie…..
Thanks for everything you do!

Hi Joe , it was a windy cold week, glad it calmed down
Happy Birthday (youngster!) I remember 67...I think! Each day is a gift- open it an enjoy!

Thanks Mark. I agree 100%. A yoga teacher once advised me: "Don't let anyone put you in a box until you're in the box."
Good one Momo

Thanks, Ingrid. Happy early birthday to you.
You have more sensible friends than I do. Most people I know still think their shots saved their lives.

Thanks, Danny.
I only wish I could have reached more people, and sooner.
You can't help everyone. You did the best anyone could do give the circumstances.
Merry Christmas !
Happy birthday!
May you still be alive when they finally say that these shots, heck, all shots are garbage based on pseudo-science.
Thanks, Rob.
Amen re: the shots.

67 times around the sun; hopefully, many more.

Thanks, Yoga. It's great that you can swim that long.
Yes, it's important to mix activity and rest. Our bodies tell us.
Happy Birthday! Just had my 67th on the planet too, fellow traveller 🙌🏻 1957 was a good vintage!
I love your writing style and enjoy your articles. Congratulations on having another Birthday! Like you said, it’s a privilege denied to many.
Thanks, Lori.
¡Feliz cumple, Señor Marco!
Gracias, NJ

Thanks, Susie, for the well wishes and the big hug.
Yes, it's been crazy. Thanks again for all the support you've given me.

Keep enjoying life! Salut!
Thanks, CDS.
I was writing from Day 1 and didn't know how to reach more people. Knowing you're out there makes me feel the time spent writing has been worthwhile.
