It is perplexing to me that so many highly-educated academic physicians and political physician groups (AMA, etc) strongly promote the leftest agenda surrounding C19, including masking, social distancing, and vaccines. I am an NP at an academic-affiliated tertiary care facility. I cannot name one physician (nor many NPs), who does not believe the leftist mantra. Most are educated in the sciences and conduct their own research related to their field of specialty. But, the blinders are on when it comes to C19.

I’m only a high school graduate but since this pandemic started I’ve read everything related to it voraciously. It’s astounding to me the lack of curiosity by so many to just accept what we’re being fed about CoVid. I just don’t get it.

The pandemic was certainly helped along by the lack of critical thinkers in society! Higher education doesn’t teach that much these days anyway.

I posted a simple graph of vaccine hesitancy that indicates mid levels of education are least hesitant and high school and PhDs are highest. My aunt said it's because they're dumb. That doesn't explain the small but significant group of PhDs. I see it as people with common sense that hasn't been highjacked by "higher learning." Mad respect for your intellectual curiosity. Guess they don't hand that out in college and it would be nice if we could get away from the arrogant elitist BS that these people are somehow better.

I'm a specialist physician who practices in the community setting and feel exactly the same way. I have no one to speak to about these matters and feel that I live in an open air insane asylum. When my 11 year old had COVID a couple months ago (mild 2 day URI) everyone told me how desperately we needed to get these vaccines approved for her age group. I am relieved that she had it so hopefully everyone will shut up about her getting vaccinated with her natural immunity.

All of my friends/family/neighbors--Injected. I periodically get the same tiresome question: "Have you had your 'C-19++' injection? I'm on my third!" Congratulations; quit asking. I remain mute; no point in arguing. I have a physician friend; who recently got into an injection argument w/ his layman father. My MD friend is injected; his father--Not. Ironically; when he related this episode to me; he said: "Everyone should have a choice." (Except his father.) I held my tongue. Thankfully; he has had the courtesy not to ask about my injection "status." But....Apart from these comment boards; I have no one with which to commiserate/discuss.

Im a physician . Most of us are very status conscious . Most of us are now employees of larger companies like not for profit health systems and totally dependent on government sanction (licenses) and money (medicare) to work and earn a living.

Our incomes are higher than average and our reputations can be undermined by negative perceptions

So most MDs just tow the line. Most MDs ive known are also decent people who went into medicine to do good. And the mafia …. Eh i mean state … exploits this to keep the MDs working. Even though we are some of the most heavily regulated and taxed ( i easily pay 50%) of my income in total taxes.

JuJu -- I'm an old retired NP who trained in the late 70's. From my experience, the "research" done by the vast majority of physicians and APnurses amounts to reading an abstract and maybe the conclusion from the entire study. I could count on one hand the number of doctors and NP's who actually start with the study methodology--if that's no good, you don't need to read the rest. Too much COVID research would never make it into the pile if you examined their procedures, rather than just trusting their conclusions. Medicine is in a very sad state.

Comprehensive takedown Mark. The “bad orange man” exposed the authoritarian streak and alignment with the globalist agenda in the Dems along with our bloated institutions.

We should have fired Fauci, assembled a truly diverse group of real scientific advisors, allowed any and all businesses to stay open and been more like Sweden but el Hombre Naranja was boxed in. Media would have been in overdrive with death counters and live images of suffering vented patients. The fix was in to maximize fear and panic with practically no way for the much maligned POTUS to rise above it.

Agreed that Trump was in a box. But the media ran the inflated death counter anyway. I wouldn't have locked down. Nor granted hospitals subsidies to overstate deaths, or for people to stay home. He should have made Americans confront the true costs of the lockdown.

And kids should have stayed in school.

Trump knows very little science. He was as out of his depth w/CV as I would be in a real estate deal.

And as you state, when the Dems took the white House, nothing changed, they just continued with the Trump way of doing. What we are seeing today is very similar to the late Roman Empire with Liberalism or Marxism as the new Christianity. As to where we are in that timeline, I'm pretty sure we are in the reign of Honorius and Arcadius. Theodosius, their father, was the Emperor who signed the new religion into law and we are now entering the age of barbarian invasions with the sack of Rome to come.

Christianity drew its early adherents from the lower classes. They went around zealously promoting the new religion and were willing to use violence and terrorism to achieve their goals. Our equivalents would be Antifa and Rote Arme Fraktion etc.

In the 80s we saw major changes in the West, just like Orwell warned us about. A lot of things were being prepped for things to come. Reagan in America, Thatcher in the UK and Gorbachev in the USSR. These were all radicals compared to what had been before. The 80s saw the death of old school liberalism, anything old school really and the start of this reborn Roman Empire which could only be realized with the fall of the USSR.

Liberalism is no longer a political idea. It is the new religion. And like the Emperors used to kill people if they did not convert, so too will your professional life be killed today if you do not adhere to the religious dogma. They are already tearing down statues just like the Christians in the Late Roman Empire. Books are being burned and scientists are purged. This is the exact same societal phenomenon and if you don't know the history I can tell you it will only get worse from here on. Our Julian the Apostate is already long dead. There will be no resistance at the level that matters. It has already been conquered. We are just going to have to live it down, like the pagans of old.

I don't believe intelligent persons are duped by this as much as they are dominated and conquered by it. Of course they don't want to admit this, so they put up unconscious barriers. What Orwell calls double think is in my opinion only double think to an outside observer. To a liberal the internal logic is perfect. He is only aided by psychological fear to stay away from confronting the weakness of this logic. This is why they get so mad at you when you challenge them. You are literally jeopardizing their mental sanity when you force them to confront certain ideas.

Mark,

I have been a conservative (economically) for my entire. I'm one of "The government is NOT the problem it IS the problem guys" Socially I have disagreed wanted "my body, my choice" and to keep the government out of anyone's bedroom! Our dysfunctional uniparty system seems intent on destroying the US in any way it can. Very sad.

As an estate planning attorney, I have tracked the client's deaths for 2020 & 2021 that we are involved with. Consistently, we have had about 50 deaths a year, mostly the elderly and sick. More recently I reviewed that list and we have had 5 times more death from depression and suicide than covid. It's anecdotal but quite interesting to consider.

By the way, you should know your links in this article to your prior writings on Medium do not work. In fact, worse, it says you are "suspended and under investigation" for violating their rules! Dennis,

Anecdotal data, such as yours, matter a lot here b/c the data being cited by MSM are gamed. Those books are cooked in ways I know about and probably in ways that I don't. Did you see the video of the UK undertaker talk about his anecdotal experience? It made the rounds a month ago. The bottom line is this has been a huge scam.

I have no doubt that all of the social disruption has caused plenty of depression and deaths.

Heck with Medium. I've moved on.

But MSM still has a big audience, which is brainwashed big-time, to the extent that, even after 20 months, people are still CV-panicked even though they know no one who is healthy under 75 who has died with--not from--CV. It's not good to have a biased media, and worse that many people don't perceive the bias.

I no longer identify with any of my peers and have felt quite homeless really. I love reading about what could possibly explain it all. But really, the simplest explanation is that division benefits the ruling class and it doesn't matter what brings it about, just that it happens. In this case I think media brainwashing is squarely to blame, but hardly anybody can see it for what it is.

Yes. I know it is unpopular with my conservidents to do this, but we have to accept the objective fact that Trump is politically dead now and to the extent that any embers remain, the Left will never let go of him. Like the Terror Rojo in the Spanish Civil War, they will dig him up to desecrate his corpse if they could. Rank and file suburban white moms who vote D hate Trump. Hate. It is a top-shelf hatred, and right next to hating racists, this is the most reliable persuasive hook Dems think they have. They used it unsparingly to mixed results in CA and VA. So use this too. Use this against them: This is Trump's vaccine. His Warpspeed. His untested. His Indemnification of Pharma contract. His deployment. His lockdown. His NIH, his GoF research. His racist travel ban. His booster booster unending booster regime. Reiterate that to them whenever you can. Make yourself look like an anti-Trumper as much as you can stand it, use it as camouflage and you can break the vaxx spell with these very, very slow women. Aikido calls this reversal technique "Kotegaeshi." Remember: The slow blade penetrates the shield. Talking science immunology just leads to MEGO (my eyes glaze over) and retrenchments. Talking feels, like what Trump personally did to their kids and their "social development" by closing schools, that gets them to at least the levels of Fear and Uncertainty. Trump also signed on to a lot of really bad things: lockdowns, masks, paying hospitals for COVID deaths, paying hospitals for COVID vent patients and so on.
